If Love is a Weakness

If love’s a weakness,

What do I gotta be strong for?

If love is blind,

For what reason have I eyes?

If love consumes,

What reason have I to give?

If love is sure death,

For what shall we live?

Oh dear God, weaken me the more.

Let my reasoning eyes be turned to the floor.

Consume my selfishness

With a death wish that I may live and love.
