Boundaries
The first job of the voice speaking into void
Was to create...
Then it was to separate!
Light from darkness,
Land from sea,
Day from night,
You from me.
The separation was never a wall
But was like the shore
Sand between land and sea
They are never “oceans apart”
They overlap and merge
Share and sometimes splurge
In tides and floods the gush over
And we too...
Boundaries establishing where we can rest
Setting gradually the dusk
Announces the sun on horizon
Sometimes awake with the dawn
Of sun splurging in exaggerating the arrival of new
Announcing in colors vivid and unnecessary
And so with you...
Sometimes overwhelming each other
Sometimes holding back
Sometimes extravagant
Sometimes in black
But with boundaries set
for that precious place called rest.
Where dreams like a billion grains of sand
Bring together sea and land
