Blue Christmas
Blue Christmas
They call the longest night of the year
Winter Solstice robs the will to rise in the morning
Yet I lay awake, sleepless, haunted by should haves and should dos and if onlys
What sorrow prepares us for joy¿
Just three days later comes: The morning of all the earth’s rejoicing
We labor to prepare the children gladness
often neglecting our own
Sadness lurks
Yet fortunate we are to know: opposite of the North Pole
It is the day that is persistent
Lying as it is at a perceived slant
Earth ‘livers’ see everything tilted
Should we with the star start to dance
We would lift the hearts dark jilted
Alignment of ages so glorious
Brooding fog lifts
Over millennia hopeless dissipates
Precipitates little stars falling from heaven
More numerous than lightning
The new storm
A welcome overshadowing
Little light of mine living in everyone
Who can pocket a falling star?
The virgin birth belongs to all of us now
Make your wonders out of seemingly nothing
Propagations fertilized forever inside
Your spirit is fruitful
Watch it bloom and burn and shine
Simultaneously
A bush burning for all time
They call the Longest Night Blue Christmas
